One Tree

Love is a temporary madness.
It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision- You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away… one tree and not two.

Pre-Halloween Storm

I know that this is late....my original post about our strange weather was on the night that the storm hit, and obviously before we lost power.

I'm finally posting some pictures from that night and the next day.
Here's the story for the snow pictures:
My love works late every night, he got home a bit early because of the storm. As sonn as he walked in the door the power went out.....but then came back on. He said that we should get bundled up and go for a walk to see all the down trees.
We ate the chili that I made, then got dressed for our little adventure.

My oh my was there a lot of bent trees and down lines:

trying to keep warm with no heat
So much damage
I love that Chris thinks of random things (like taking a walk during a storm).  It was so peaceful that night. No lights from any houses, no cars on the road, no one outside... just the light of the moon reflecting off of the snow, and the only sounds were that of cracking tree branches. It was sort of magical.

Well that's all for now, hope you all have a great night!

Have to say it

I know it's random, but I have to say it...

I am so in love...no shocker, I know.

But it just has kind of hit me lately~ Chris and I have been together for so long, and we have had our ups and downs for sure...but I am so head over heals in love with him that it's hard to explain.

We have grown so much as individuals and as a couple.

A year ago we would never have thought that we'd be planning a wedding...ever. It's just something that Chris never wanted, and I was willing to sacrifice that to be with him, along with him not wanting to have children. When Chris told me that he wanted to get married, I was floored..we'd been engaged for 4 years at that point...but our engagement was never actually leading to anything. Of course I was over the moon (still am!) and now he's expressing feelings that seem to veer towards having a child at some point.
I'm just so full of love and appreciation.

He makes me a better person, and I'll love him forever.
