Spring, Summer......Winter?

What happened to Fall??
It's not even Halloween yet, and we are getting hit with up to 18" of snow! Wet, heavy, tree limb breaking snow.

I know that everyone says "New Englanders should be used to this, blah, blah, blah" But you know what? If I want to complain that my favorite season got the boot too soon, then damn it, I'm going to!

I made chili for the first time ever.....and it's SOOOO good! I'd share the recipe but I didn't use one. This is typical of me, I just add things by eye and taste. Typical Italian I guess lol.

I guess that's the good part of the cooler weather...it makes me want to bake all the time. It's almost time for me to start preparing for my crazy holiday baking. lol It's a TON of work, but everybody loves it, so it's worth it.

Thankful Thursday

My Mother.

There are so many reasons that I am thankful for this incredible, intricate woman.

She's endlessly giving, loving, and caring. I've never known a more caring individual~If I needed $4 and she only had $5, she would give me $4.99 without a second thought.

She's stubborn as hell, thick skulled, 'never wrong', sarcastic, and at times a bit crass. (could be where I get it?ha ha)

She's funny, creative, intelligent, and sometimes naive.

She's amazing, and she's one of my best friends.

I don't know what I would do without her in my life...I'm the person that I am today because of the strong values, traits, and traditions that she instilled in me.

I am so lucky that I can (an always could) talk to her about ANYTHING. She was always in my corner~ even when I was wrong~although she'd be the first to tell me that I was.

We can always call each other on our BS, and we don't take it to heart (most of the time anyways lol).

I'm truly blessed for all that she has given to me~ not just in the physical sense (as in belongings), but in the emotional and educational sense.

I know that she'll always be there for me.

Have to say it

I know it's random, but I have to say it...

I am so in love...no shocker, I know.

But it just has kind of hit me lately~ Chris and I have been together for so long, and we have had our ups and downs for sure...but I am so head over heals in love with him that it's hard to explain.

We have grown so much as individuals and as a couple.

A year ago we would never have thought that we'd be planning a wedding...ever. It's just something that Chris never wanted, and I was willing to sacrifice that to be with him, along with him not wanting to have children. When Chris told me that he wanted to get married, I was floored..we'd been engaged for 4 years at that point...but our engagement was never actually leading to anything. Of course I was over the moon (still am!) and now he's expressing feelings that seem to veer towards having a child at some point.
I'm just so full of love and appreciation.

He makes me a better person, and I'll love him forever.

Thankful Thursday

I have so very much to be thankful for...so every Thursday (hopefully) I'm going to do a "Thankful Thursday" post.

Each post will focus on one thing that I am thankful for. Here's to my first "TT" post!

I'm thankful for the relationship I have with Kara (you can see her blog here). She just recently married my fiances bother, so in 9 months she'll be my sister-in-law!

Kara is also a very talented photographer and Chris and I were lucky enough to have our engagement pictures done by her~ take a look.

She just recently got hitched, you can see a tid bit about her wedding here.

Kara and I grew much closer during her wedding planning. I was so honored that she wanted me to be such a big part of her special day, and I was happy to do all that I could to help.

I feel like we have a much stronger bond, and for that I am forever thankful.

I'm glad you're a part of my life Kara, I love you like a sister!

Little Things

This past weekend I got to see two of my best friends, and one of my sisters~ and if that wasn't good enough~ I picked up some great stuff for the J&J shower and the wedding!

I went to The Christmas Tree Shop and found this stuff for the shower (it's a Victorian tea party theme):

I also went to Michael's Crafts. For the past 6 months I've been on the hunt for dragonfly pins for mine and my bridesmaids bouquets. Dragonflies are symbolic of our friendship...we all have dragonfly tattoos, and whenever we are together we see them flying around. It was important to me to add a personal touch about our friendship. I FINALLY found the pins...and on clearance to boot! They even have a little purple gem:

My sister Jill bought Chris and I the picture frame that we are going to use at the wedding reception (for the sign in table). It's so pretty, and masculine at the same time...it's Chris' fave colors- black and silver:

I also got the rest of the card stock that I needed to finish the 'save-the-dates' and I got the supplies for wedding programs.

Things are coming along...it makes me happy.

My future brother-in-law got married this past Saturday

What a beautiful day, so full of joy and love. Congratulations, Michael & Kara! I love you guys so very much!

Friday I took the day off to help them finish up some details for thier big day...we hit a few glitches, but got everything done.

Saturday was PERFECTION...luckily all the glitches got out of the way on Friday.
