Christmas Wrap Up ~ Part 3

Christmas Wrap Up ~ Part 3: Family

Being Italian, Christmas Eve is our big celebration.
The day began at my mothers house.
I went over fairly early in the day since Chris had to work.
He didn't get to moms until 7pm. {bummer}

Here are some pictures:
Mom, Me, and my sis Cindy
Me & Cindy
Me & my nephew Anthony {the goof ball}

Anthony & his girlfriend Abby
one of the gifts from mom had a dragonfly ornament attached to it!

I was disappointed with the food at moms because mom didn't cook :::insert super sad face:::: I was SO looking forward to her Christmas cooking.

Once Chris got there we all exchanged gifts and then we had to scurry out the door to get to Chris' families house for their Christmas Eve extravaganza:
Mum & Papa opening the Keurig that us 4 kids chipped in to get them.
Somehow I only managed to take one stinkin picture at the in-laws! I guess I was to busy socializing lol.
Me, Chris, Michael, and Kara all chipped in to buy the in-laws a Keurig...so we had them open it on Christmas Eve so we could set it up for them and give them a tutorial on how to use it. {lol}

Christmas Day came and went...we had din din with the in-laws and fam.

Monday 12/26 we headed to Rhode Island to see my sister Jill and her Husband and to exchange gifts with them:
Jill and Chris and thier 'son' Cooper
Me & Jill

That's all for Part 3!

Fun Fact Friday

I know, it's been a long time since I have posted an F3 ...

Today's post is about a new tradition that my friends and I started last year.

We began having an Annual Ugly Sweater Gathering at the bar the my friend Michele works at....I'm writing about it today because tonight is our 2nd annual USG.

I'm looking forward to seeing my lovely friends, however: I'm VERY tired from being up until 3:00am every night for the past week.

I'm hoping I can stay awake for the night of fun.

Here are some photos from last year's gathering:

So needless to say, I'm looking forward to tonight.

I'm going to try to post tomorrow morning before my festivities begin for the day {being Italian, we celebrate Christmas Eve more so than Christmas Day}....but if I run out of time I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday filled with family, friends, happiness, joy, and lots of yummy snacks!

Quick update

Photobucket

Hello Lovelies!

The past few weeks have been super hectic due to the fast approaching holiday.
{which I'm VERY excited for btw}

In addition to the Christmas excitement, I've also been able to check
a few more 'to-do's' off of my wedding list.

A couple weeks ago Chris and I were at Walmart doing Christmas shopping for baking supplies...we wandered over to the Seasonal aisles and on the way by we passed the Clearance aisle...
I glanced over and I spotted a bunch of wedding stuff {so of course I HAD to look!}
Sitting right there on the shelf were 8 boxes of 'Thank You' cards (25 in each box) and they were only....
Ready for this? ......$2.50 each! SCORE!
We bought all 8 boxes so that we can use them as shower thank yous and wedding thank yous
They are a bit plane, but I'm sure I can spruce them up some how:

I also purchased the shoes that I plan to wear for the wedding. I'm so happy I happened upon them:

I know, I know...they aren't the 'typical' wedding day shoe...but I guess that I'm not a 'typical' bride.
These meet all of the requirements that I wanted for the shoe:
1) They are 5" high- I needed this height to avoid hemming my gown.
2) They are dark purple
3) They proving enough stability so the (hopefully) I won't trip on the rocks at the ceremony site.
4) They only cost me $28

In other wedding news:
Per Chris' request we will most likely be adding a color to the pallet.
The colors will now include Purple, light green (sage), and light teal/aqua

I'm looking forward to finding ways to incorporate the new color choice.

What do you think?

Hope you all have a lovely night,

Neglect

I'm so sorry!

I've been neglecting my blogger obligations due to the craziness that Christmas brings.

I promise to do a real post as soon as I have 10minutes  to myself.

(here's an idea of what's been keeping me SO busy!)

Hope you are all well!!

Weekend Wrap Up

Hello All,

First thing's first~ I'm sorry that I neglected to post a Fun Fact Friday. I've just been super busy and tired lately.

Now onto the post:

Saturday was uneventful.
In the morning I cleaned and tried to organize all of Chris' crap that he refuses to throw away.
Then I had to go in to work for someone else....the 2:00-10:00 shift is NOT fun...although I DID have a chance to decorate my desk a little:

And I watched White Christmas {I brought it on DVD and watched it on one of the computers} lol
{As you can see, I was very productive!}

Sunday was great. Kara and I woke up really early and headed down to CT to go to the Boulevard Flea Market. We got some great stuff! They had all name brand pocketbooks, NorthFace Jackets, UGGs, you name it!
It was pretty sketchy at moments, but it was a lot of fun and we were able to get great gifts for a lot of people.
I'm looking forward to going again this coming Saturday.

When we got back to this in-laws we helped them decorate for Christmas {which I still HAVEN'T even done yet- I need to get on the ball!}

Speaking of my decorating-which is typically done by Black Friday- I found this lovely DIY idea:

{I can't remember which blog I found this on}
You use styrofoam cones, hot glue, and any ribbon of your choice. It's pretty simple.

Well, I hope you all had a good weekend.

I'm very excited for tomorrow because my friend Michele and I are going to The Boston Pops Christmas Show at Symphany Hall in Boston! I'm planning on taking as many pictures as I can get away with.

Have a lovely day!

Thankful Thursday

Photobucket

Hello All!

Hope your week is going well...the good news is that tomorrow is Friday :)

Today I am thankful for random weekdays off.  I had today off because I am working on Saturday for a co-worker so that she can go to her sons Mother/Son dance at his school.

I made a big dinner last night since I didn't have to worry about waking up super early today.
Check out this yummi-ness:

Stuffed Shells

Bread, Salad, and Baked Chicken
It was so good, and there are lots of leftovers because I always make too much food! Chris had 8 shells on his own and there is still a lot left.

Anyways;
I chose today as my swap day for Saturday because Chris has Thursdays off. It was nice to spend the day with him during the week.

We woke up early to drop his work truck off to get maintenance, then we grabbed some breakfast. After we ate we headed to Sprint to change my service over from TMobile....and Chris got me the IPhone 4s as an early Christmas gift! I'm pumped! I needed a new phone, and new service so badly.

I played around with the thing all day. It has this cool option named "Siri" and you can ask it questions and it responds to you....well...I hit the button on accident and then said to myself  'I'm an idiot', and Siri responded "If you say so". Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard.

After we got the phone swap taken care of we had to take our picture for our Christmas cards...what a production!
We are doing a funny photo with us and the dogs and it took so many attempts to get the picture the way we wanted it. {I'll load a pic once I get the cards}

So for now it's back to work tomorrow, and unfortunately on Saturday too {insert pouty face here}

I'll be starting my holiday decorating after work tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good Friday!
